Have you ever been to NC? Oh yeah, that’s my home I have say. There’s just nothing like that place you grew up in. Even today I continue to head back to North Carolina for the holidays. Oh, and of course the summer time for a while as well. That the whole, “There’s no place like home” spiel that Dorothy kept ranting on about truly has some validity. What’s your favorite place? You know, the one that you always have to go back to? Well, don’t ever stop, or you’ll lose touch with your roots. Although I am a Chapel Hill native, a few other places on my list to touch base with are Raleigh, Charlotte, and Winston Salem North Carolina. If you’ve never been to any of them - what are you waiting for?

Isn’t it time you headed down south to take a gander at Charleston, or maybe Winston Salem North Carolina? There is so much to experience if you’ve never ventured down to the southern corner of the USA. That old saying about southern hospitality is not a bogus one. Believe me, I’ve been around this country. After road tripping up to New York City and flying out to LA, I can certainly say I’ve had a taste of different regions. However, I’ve also spent time in Atlanta, Iowa, Ohio, Texas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Chicago, Florida and Portland, Oregon. These are all cool places. While one can instantly recognize them as parts of America, they all have a certain twist or spin on things.

In my opinion, the south, such as places like Charleston, Chapel Hill and Winston Salem, North Carolina are much more hospitable. I found this out especially when I decided to move to Oregon for three years. Now, don’t get me wrong, Oregon is a beautiful place with some of the finest beer and coffee I’ve ever tasted. However, the hospitality is so much different. I was so used to strangers calling me “honey,” and “sugar,” that I thought it was the norm. Then suddenly in this new place, no one did it anymore. I must admit that I missed it. Well, a trip back to Raleigh and Winston Salem North Carolina got me back on track. It was great to be back in my element.

If you have truly never experienced the south, it is time. Check out places like Chapel Hill, Cary, or Winston Salem, North Carolina. A few others that should go un-missed are Atlanta, Charleston, South Carolina and Savanna, Georgia. Get online and plan your trip to the beautiful south, today.
